Quick and Easy Raon Kimchi Pancakes

140g Raon Medium or Extra Spicy Kimchi, chopped roughly.  

70g All-purpose flour  

15g corn starch

90ml icy cold water

10ml Kimchi juice 

1 tbsp vegetable oil 


10g thinly sliced onion


Optional dipping sauce: 

(In a small container, combine all the lists of ingredients below and mix them thoroughly. Cover the lid and put it aside.)

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tsp rice vinegar

¬Ĺ tsp gochugaru¬†

¬Ĺ tsp sugar

1 tbsp water


  1. In a large bowl, combine the kimchi, flour, cornstarch, water, and the kimchi juice and mix everything.
  2. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. 
  3. Ladle the mixture into the pan and spread it evenly into a thin, round shape.
  4. Cook until the edges turn golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes. Flip the pancake over. 
  5. Press the pancake down with a spatula. 
  6. Cook until the other side is nicely golden brown and crispy, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  7. Repeat the process until there is no remaining batter.
  8.  Serve hot with a dipping sauce, if desired.
