Raon Kitchen is located in Nepean within 20 minutes of downtown of Ottawa. It started its business through two farmers’ markets in Ottawa since July 2012. The main products include three kinds of Korean sauces and several kinds of Kimchi, and the product line is planned to expand to cover more variety of authentic Korean cuisine. All of these products are basically fermentation related food which is known as healthy. Customers’ responses to these specialty food products have been enormous. The company is also invited to participate in another farmers’ market organized by Sustainable Development of Student Federation of University of Ottawa. One of the sauces was featured as ‘easy to use and helpful for quick cooking’ in December 2012 in Ottawa Citizen.
Raon Kitchen was incorporated federally as of November 2012 to give more reliability to our customers and to operate the business as a separate legal entity which will prosper as a Canadian company. Board of directors and Chief Executive Officer as well as its Chef have rather extensive knowledge and love about Korean food culture, and all of us believe Ottawa deserves to have real and high quality of Korean food option as the capital of Canada. Raon [ra:on] means ‘greatly pleasing, enjoyable and cheerful’ in pure Korean. We are confident our foods will please and comfort people whenever they try them.
As a successful applicant of City of Ottawa's Street Food Program in 2013, we serve healthy and tasty Bibimbap at our food cart located Bank St and Albert St downtown. The story of our food cart from the begining was filimed and broadcasted in Food on Wheels, a CBC Documentary.
